Counseling Ministry

“Our immediate mission is to function as a team of counselors that could serve the Friendly Temple Family & Community by presenting various topics on mental health & wellness from our counseling perspectives and disciplines via media and virtual presentations.”

Leader:  Dr. John Brooks

Deacons Ministry

To support the vision and mission of the church and Senior Pastor by being an extended arm of the Pastor. This includes, but is not limited to visiting the sick and shut in and overseeing all ministries under the umbrella of the Deacons' ministry. These ministries include transportation, security, benevolence, baptism and all other duties as assigned by the Pastor to advance the unity of the church.

Deaconess Ministry

Deaconess Ministry is to assist the Pastor by working with the Deacons in ministering to the needs of the overall congregation - specifically to women, children, elderly, and those in distress with loving kindness and sympathy.

Discipleship Ministry

To encourage the body of Christ to walk worthy of its calling in Jesus Christ by faith, in love, unity and knowledge, through the equipping of all saints for the work of the ministry and evangelism by the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit.

For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Ephesians 4:12

Leaders: Deacon Loyse & Charlotte Clay

Evangelism Ministry

To further the presence of FTC in local communities with citizens and leaders proclaiming the salvation of Christ and the ministry of helps, identifying need, directing to ministries as required with concern, compassion and commitment to at risk neighborhoods God has given us and the lost we are empowered to evangelize and serve

To win lost souls to Christ advancing the Kingdom of God on earth by evangelist, utilizing current platforms to share the gospel of Christ that saves to the uttermost part of the world wide and making personal contact with local citizens and community leaders in at risk neighborhoods as we serve with compassion, concern and commitment making full proof of ministry.

Leader:  Pastor Walter Ford

Greeters & Ushers Ministry

Greeters will exemplify God’s heart for his people by creating an initial atmosphere of welcome for all who come to experience the “Good News” of the Kingdom. The members of the team will exhibit behaviors that demonstrate the sincere and genuine heart of service while simultaneously monitoring the entrance of guests and maintaining a pleasant and appropriate culture in the foyer.  Greeters will focus on as many connecting points as possible:  right attitude, right spirit, positive facial expressions, smiles, attentiveness and eye contact.

Therefore, the Biblical basis is clearly established in 1 Peter 4:8-9 -- “And above all things have fervent love for one another, for ‘love will cover a multitude of sins.’ Be hospitable to one another without grumbling.”

Leaders: Leesa Ross & Kevin Horton

Health Education

Led by the Agape Love of Jesus Christ we empower members of the communities we serve to make informed decisions about their most prevalent health concerns-based upon the most recent best practices and delivered by various educational and resource opportunities.

Leaders:  Jacqueline Ewell & Martha Moore

Intercessory Prayer Team

Our ministry mission is to empower God’s people through continual prayer.  We are called and committed to pray as Jesus has commanded. 1 Thessalonians 5:17-18 “Pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” The Intercessory Prayer Team encourages and guides others in living a life of prayer, both individually and corporately, and to make prayer a central part of life.

Leader: Elaine D. Tomlin

Male Ministry

Our mission is to lead men to Christ and disciple them towards finding the fullness of their potential in Christ. That they develop spiritually, draw closer to God, and become leaders, “not only in their families,” but in their sphere of influence, and be the true leaders God attended us to be, as they follow the greatest man, “JESUS CHRIST."

Mothers Ministry

The goal of the senior ministry is to empower our senior adult members to continue to serve the Lord. We do this by providing opportunities for missions, ministry, worship, prayer, fellowship, spiritual growth, teaching, mentoring and giving. Senior adults are encouraged to continue to use the gifts, wisdom and experiences that God has given them to bring glory to God and to participate in the mission of His Church.

Music Ministry

The purpose of the Music Ministry is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ through song, encourage believers in their walk with Christ and spread the Word of God through musical experiences.

Male Chorus Ministry

The sole mission of the FTMBC Singing Ministries is to usher in the spirit of God through Psalms in preparing the hearts of the congregation to receive the anointed Word of God going forth through the Pastor's message.

Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands.  Serve the LORD with gladness: Come before his presence with singing.  Know ye that the LORD he is God:  It is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; We are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.  Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, And into his courts with praise: Be thankful unto him, and bless his name.  For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; And his truth endureth to all generations. Psalm 100:1-5

Leaders: Minister Michael Robinson & Deacon David White

Trustee Ministry

The Trustee Ministry manages the material possessions and oversees the financial matters of the church with spiritual sensitivity. The church's physical property, financial obligations and all other assets are the responsibility of the Trustee Ministry. Trustees enable the execution of God’s mission through stewardship and individual spiritual gifts. Acting as one body, the Trustees provide direction, leadership, facilities, processes, capability and capacity to help further God’s word.

Women Ministry

Women Ministry’s purpose is to empower, strengthen, and encourage women to their full potential in God by helping women gain knowledge and understanding of God.  The ministry will provide opportunities for women to identify and use their unique God given gifts for the purpose of harvesting other women for God’s kingdom.
