Rev. Robert Fulton Davis accepted a call to the preaching ministry in the early 1940's. Later in 1955, he was led to organize a church and fondly named it Friendly Temple. During his tenure, the church cultivated charter members who would become foundational witnesses helping to create a ministry of hope in an urban community later to be called a wilderness.
